Alana Marie Terrence walked happily down the streets of her beloved New York City. She inhaled the deeply, taking in the smell of the city. It had that just beginning of fall smell mixed with hot dogs and freshly baked pretzels. Okay, so maybe it wasn't the most pleasant scent, but having grown up here Alana loved it. She loved the hustle and bustle of the city. She loved the crowds and the honking of taxis. New York was the most beautiful city in the world, at least to her. And she was the city's princess. The Terrence's were one of the most wealthiest families of the city. They had their name on almost every building in the city and involved in pretty much every arts program. This was her kingdom.
The beautiful brunette arrived at her destination. Starbucks. Alana pushed open the double doors and walked into the cold air-conditioned store. The place smelled strongly of coffee and the sound of coffee grinders filled the air. It was a welcoming site. She loved the coffee house. Her heels clicked merrily on the marble floors are she walked up to the awkward teen barista. He gave her a lopsided smile as he blushed at her. She couldn't help but giggle. She loved the fact she could make a boy nervous.
"A venti non-fat chai latte please."she said. The boy nodded and she pulled out her visa card. After paying for her drink, Alana walked over to one of the large leather club chairs and pulled a small novel out of her purse. Lord of the Flies. The book was dog eared and well worn. It was one of her favorite books, she loved the book and read it at least twenty million times. A barista walked out and handed her drink. Her bangles clinked as she took the steaming cup of coffee. She took a sip and opened her book. The coffee tasted far too sweet but she didn't care. Most blue bloods stopped eating normal food after they started getting their powers but Alana just couldn't kick her coffee habit. As she read, Alana became completely oblivious to the world around her now. Even to the person coming up to her.
